Transistor App Reviews

Wow.

This title is awesome, and actually may have even converted me over to the idea of gaming on an iOS device. The graphics and music are just fantastic; not just for an iOS device...but for any device out there. The story is really captivating that really hooks you in with just a fun fighting mechanic. I bought this when they had the 50% off promotion, but I think this would be worth it even at full price. Ill have to try out bastion now once Im done with this one !

One of the very best but one bug

Transistor is absolutely amazing. The graphics are lovely, vibrant, and gorgeous. The gameplay is buttery smooth and pretty simple but fun. Story and characters are compelling, and the music accompanies the storyline very well. Theres only one bug though, when I try to click the option soundtrack in settings, it doesnt launch it and the game quits out. Im playing on a brand new iPhone 6s, so I dont know what the problem is. Please fix it as this is an otherwise phenomenonal game thats worth every penny.

High quality but inchoate storyline

Gameplay, Visuals, Design: 5/5 Storyline: 3/5 Overall: 4/5 If you havent already realized from the images and trailer, this game is a very high quality game in terms of visuals and sounds. Its gameplay, controls and battle mechanics are excellent. The combination of turn-based strategy paired simultaneously with real time battles is innovative and a joyful experience that, although takes some getting used to, provides more options to play to your own style. In terms of gameplay and quality this game excels and gets a maximum rating from me. I played it on my iPhone6 in case that matters to some Unfortunately the depth and quality of the gameplay and aesthetics is not complimented by a deep storyline. The storyline is intriguing and the setting is very interesting but I felt like it left me with many questions and although it starts making more sense towards the end I never felt like I fully understood what was happening. This plot full of holes and gaps, combined with the fact the game is linear and entirely guided (you basically keep walking and fighting until you reach the end) is the downside. Its also very short. The whole game feels like the final chapter of a book having missed everything that happened before that point. If not for the intriguing setting, beautiful design, and fun, innovative battle system I wouldve given this game a lower rating, but its strong suits outweigh its shortcomings. Worth playing but its short length and underdeveloped storyline make it not worth $10, get it when its on discount.

Couldnt get into it

The reviews are so great, I snagged this game during a sale. But after just a couple days playing, I still didnt feel like Id gotten the point. The innovative turn-based-ish controls people talked about just felt like a workaround for poor controls. I just had no desire to keep playing and deleted it. The visuals and music are great, but that doesnt make the game fun.

5 star game/ 1 star app

This game is by all means one of my favorite games of all time, first playing it on the PS4. I really thought Id get the game and replay it on iOS. I have an iPad mini so I bought it for that. Then with disappointment it didnt work. So then a few months later I get a more powerful device, an iPod touch 6! More than enough power. So I download it again thinking this time Ill play it on iOS. WRONG!!! Still not compatible. Im thinking what do I need to do!? So unless I buy a way more powerful iPad or phone then I can play it but Im not buying any more devices just to play this one game I already own on my console. Screw this app and devs for limiting this app this badly. Fix this now please. If it can run on an iPhone 5 or 5s then it can run on my iPod touch with the same screen size and more power! Fix it!

Looks great up til it crashes

This game looks great in the gameplay is awesome... Up until the time it crashes. iPhone 6s? check Latest operating system? check Close all my other apps and make sure I have tons of memory? check Reinstall the app? check I cant make it past the theater fight scene after the motorcycle cut scene. Every time I enter a battle, it crashes. Please fix it. I cant be the only one having issues after Im done the proper troubleshooting steps.

Amazing

Love this game. Love the music. Sound effects. Voices. Gameplay. Everything. Im addicted!

Perfect

A masterpiece compared to most games on the appstore.

Just Amazing

I never write reviews, Ive never written a review actually but for transistor I just had to write one. The art is amazing, the storyline is beautiful, and it launches you right into the game without so much as a tutorial or even a menu. Truly a learn as you play experience. Ive seen this game so many times but always put it off because I was afraid that it wouldnt be worth 10 dollars. It is definitely worth it. After playing through the who,e thing and getting emotionally attached to a sword and then having my heart break from the whole story, I really want to keep on playing it so much. Even if it is the same thing which btw is something I never do. The game only crashed on me once but it has so many saving points that its nearly impossible to lose your progress unless you choose to go through it without using any of the save points. Highly recommend to everyone. Definitely worth it. Best game ever.

iphone5s!!!

Omg!! This game is so beautiful in every way!!! Im really hooked to this game it is very interesting...the graphics are top end quality, the gameplay is remarkable with its combat system and controls which is unique and responsive!!! The story with the guys voice is clever and on point

Masterpiece!

Twice on PC, Platinum on PS4, now on iOS! Bring it on!

Spectacular.

This game is incredible. The story is captivating, and the telling is new and intriguing. The graphics are gorgeous, and combat is fun. My only complaint is that enemies drift when you "pause" the game, so you plan out your attacks, but by the time you get to your third or fourth hit youre swinging at nothing because the enemies have moved and you already set your plan. In other words, when you pause to attack, your character moves toward the position of the enemies at the beginning of the turn rather than where they are at in real time. This is extremely annoying, but was really the only problem I had with the gameplay. Cant wait to play it again! I would recommend this game to anyone! FYI: The play time is about 6 hours.

Crashes constantly

Every fight sequence crashes on my iPhone 6s. :(

Almost great

Hands down a great game. I absolutely love the Diablo 3 style (mix and match) skill sets. The story is unique, but not jaw dropping; however, with the conceptualized art it adds a bit of intrigue. Be prepared to stop playing. Abruptly. And without warning. At first the game will flow beautifully, but as you continue to play... Crash. I would love for this game to be finished so I could finish some of the challenges. Maybe it will be after version 1.5?

If only it didnt crash constantly

This game would be amazing, if it didnt constantly crash. I cant even get past one fight due to it always crashing part way through. Using an iPad Air 2.

amazing

really is better with earphones! theres a few bugs with force closing - happens when I access the music box

Had to finish, not want

Its a fun game with a cool attack system. The weapons and combo system really sell this game. I really enjoyed it at first, but it seemed to become very tedious and drawn out. The monsters were the same, just stronger and with more health. The gem were the bosses, but those were few and far between. Thats why I say, "had to finish, but didnt want to". I couldnt leave this game unfinished. The story seems to take a real iffy turn at certain parts, but I guess it all depends on how you view it. Over all, Im glad I played and finished it. Anyone who enjoys a great soundtrack, visuals, and unique combat system will find this game to be well worth purchasing.

Great gameplay, visuals, voice overs. Awful story

If you want to review explaining all of the great parts of this game, Im sure theres a lot of other reviews that would be better than this one. This review only talks about the story. I still think the game is good, just not the story which is overhyped and ill explain why; In a nut shell this games story reminds me of a contrived theater piece, that relies heavily on filler dialogue (dialogue that doesnt push the story), but in the end fails to explain whats actually going on in the story. Sure theres this evil group trying to chase the main character because they made a mistake with these an enemy called the process. This part is standard, but with so much dialogue, I expected this game to reveal more. The fact that this game looks beautiful and that the world is so well-designed and flushed out does not excuse this game from explaining the story. The End boss fight was literally the most disappointing fight Ive ever played. There was no strategy, both sides try to freeze time as they can so they can unload attacks on the other player. The last boss dialogue was equally disappointing. The best character BY FAR was the sword whos filler dialogue was more entertaining than any of the other characters. The last boss for instance had SO MUCH dialogue but never said anything important, just meaningless filler talk like yes, i have it. Im most certain. This could be the way. Im sure of it. Really well voice acted but doesnt say anything. So check this game out but please for the gameplay only

I love this game

This game is not a game for me anymore it has a lot of sentimental value and I cant wait to see new games from this amazing company

One of the Best Games Ever.
